This policy explains how SOK Academy collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. It applies together with our Terms of Service. The platform at www.sokacademy.com is operated by S.O.K. Scientific & Educational Consultancy Co. (S.P.C.), C.R. 509691, Kuwait ("we", "our", "us"). By creating an account or using the Services you agree to this policy; if you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Information we collect
Account information you provide (name, email, phone number, password); payment information processed securely by our payment providers, Tap and PayPal — you give card details to them directly, we never see or store your card number; your country, collected at checkout for invoicing; communications you send our support or sales team by email, WhatsApp, or other channels; content you share with other students through the platform's social features; and, automatically, usage data (course progress, quiz and exam results, completion rates) and authentication cookies that keep you signed in. If you arrive through an advertisement, services such as Google Ads may collect interaction data under their own policies.
2. How we use it
To provide and operate the platform; process payments, issue invoices, and manage subscriptions; track learning progress and deliver content; enable social features; communicate about your account and courses; send newsletters and promotions (opt out any time); contact you by phone or messaging such as WhatsApp about our services; improve the platform; detect and prevent fraud and technical issues; and comply with legal obligations.
5. Communications and marketing
You may receive email newsletters and WhatsApp or phone communications from our team. Unsubscribe from marketing email via the link in every message, and from messaging by contacting us. Transactional messages — payment confirmations, renewals, service notices — are sent regardless of marketing preferences.
7. Storage and security
Data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure with SSL/TLS transmission and access controls. No electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
8. Retention
We keep your personal information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you close your account we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe — except transaction and invoice records, which we retain for at least five years in line with commercial record-keeping requirements in Kuwait, and anything else the law requires us to keep.
9. Your rights
Request access to a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion subject to legal retention, or opt-out of marketing, by contacting us below. We respond within 30 days.
10. Children
Access requires age 13+; registration requires 18+ or verifiable parental consent and supervision (see the Terms). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 and delete it promptly if discovered.
11. International users
We operate from Kuwait and serve users globally; your information may be transferred to and processed in the jurisdictions where our servers and providers are located. By using the Services you consent to such transfers.
12. Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date changes when we do, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
