السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Ustadh, prostrating to anyone other than Allah is kufr. What if someone prostrates before a living person as a sign of respect or greeting, but not as an act of worship. Is this still kufr? It is quite common in the subcontinent.

It is a very dangerous and grave matter that should be clarified and we should advise one another with wisdom and kindness inviting one another to abandon such matters. Our concern should be how to spread awareness and help stop this phenomenon rather than anything else.
