What is the ruling on this? Can you please recommend lessons or such where it is possible to learn about this.

If you have a known habit you sit out those days and pray after them, and if you have no habit you go by the blood itself, the dark thick blood with an odour is the menses and the thin red is istiḥāḍah. If neither is clear, you take six or seven days from the start of each month as your menses and pray after that, making wuḍūʾ for the time of each prayer.
