Assalamu alaikum Ustadh, recently I’ve seen lots of videos about people saying they do 10k or 30k istighfar and they’ve gotten wealth or something good happens to them. Is it correct to make istighfar just so that you can gain wealth without having the thought of seeking forgiveness?

Ofcoirse this is wrong, yes istighfar is a means for the barakat of Allah, however we r seeking forgiveness from Him subhanahu wataala.
