Assalamualaikum dear Ustadh, may Allah grant you success, Giving money to ones family(if they have debts on banks and stuff) but not giving it help them in paying off. Just because of being dutiful and a good son/daughter without asking why. Or should one specifically say dont use it for so and so

You mean giving someone gifts? Giving someone a gift is not a problem. You can gift whoever you want to.
