Assalamu aleykum A brother asks: People have been telling lies to the family of my wife about me. Is it allowed for me to sit with her uncle and his wife as well as her cousine etc. (all in one room) to clear up these lies as they dont know me? Me and my wife have just recently gotten married.

I usually advise couples not to involve anybody in their problems as much as possible. Anyway, for sitting: you can sit with the men alone, and if there is no free mixing and no forbidden gaze, then you can sit even if his wife is there. However, I do not recommend it.
