Assalamu Alaykum Ustadh Habeeb Is it permissible when I go to a family to ask for their daughter in marriage and both parents sit in the same room mother and father including myself? Or would this be considered as free mixing ?

They can sit and see u but usually the father only. The Islamic known etiquettes must be followed as well by the mother of she is present.
