السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته احسن الله إليكم Would it be permissible for me to enter the management for a college event ( I would get a certificate for it) ,it's a sports festival has entry fees and the winner gets a trophy but I won't be taking any of that money it's all owned by the college

I'm afraid that participating in such a thing includes many forbidden things, such as: 1. Free mixing 2. Showing of awrah 3. Gambling (since they pay fees to enter a competition to win something) There are many forbidden things here that you should stay away from. And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows best. Therefore, it is not allowed.
