I lent a brother money. He recently had an operation and is still in the hospital. Some brothers collected funds to help him. He declined it, his worry was that my debt gets repaid. Can I take this money knowing that the brothers collected it to help his situation and not for him paying me back?

It depends on what the brothers intended. If they gave it to him as charity for him, it is his and he may repay you with it. If they collected it for his treatment, it is not spent on anything else without their permission.
