أحسن الله إليك my mother experienced a yellow discharge (her monthly cycle was due) and she also saw red spots (not flow) then after a day she started having the flow of blood. She didn’t pray during the time of yellow discharge because she saw some red spots as well so is she supposed to make up?

She is correct, it is her monthly cycle. But if yellow or brown discharge happens separate from the cycle before or after it and it is not connected to it, then this is nothing and she can pray, fast, and do everything that the one on her monthly cycle is not able to do.
