Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Ustadh. In Lesson 3, you mentioned the prayer spot must be clean from sujood to heels and hand span to hand span. Is it valid if someone only uses a paper towel for sujood or prays on a hoodie/jacket that does not cover the whole prayer area?

I need more information. Is the spot impure? And if it is, can't you just pray somewhere else?
