Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Ustadh. Is it permissible to let water flow directly from the tap over the body parts when performing wudu or must one collect the water in the palm of the hand and then pour it over them?

Yes, it is allowed. What is required is that the water covers the whole limb, though passing the hand over it is better.
