Assalamu 'Alaikum When I'm working with people sometimes a female says to me 'How's your morning?' and I respond neutrally with 'Good, and you?', then she says something like 'Yes me as well' and I don't go past this. Is this allowed or is considered freemixing? Barak Allahu Feekum.

Greeting a woman who is not a mahram, or answering her greeting, and exchanging brief words is allowed when there is no seclusion (khulwah), no softening or alluring of the voice, and nothing that provokes temptation (fitnah), for women used to greet and question the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and Allah, the Most High, says in Surah al-Ahzab, ayah 32, that women should not be soft in speech lest one in whose heart is a disease should feel desire.
