Ustadh, if the beard reaches a length longer than 4 fingers width, should we shorten it ? I only know of the saying, that the Sahaba and especially Umar and Abu Bakr shortened it to 4 fingers width only after Hajj. What about those who cannot yet do Hajj ?

Only ibn omar in hajj and umrah he cut what is longer than a fist. Other narrations we need to establish the authenticity first. Either way the messenger did not do it and we stick to him and his commands.
