What is allowed and what is the Sunnah is that when we hear the Adhan, we repeat after the Mu'adhin, as making this addition was not included in the evidence. As for whether it is mandatory to send Salah upon the Messenger every time you hear his name, it is one of the sayings of the scholars, and the majority are of the view that it is favored.
