As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh How do you refute those who say that garments below the ankles are permissible for men, especially when they use the hadith of Abu Bakr as evidence? Jazakallahu khairan.

Ustadh AbdulAziz al-Haqqan
But Abu Bakr's clothes were above his ankles, then they got loose and they fell under. He was scared and went to the Messenger (peace be upon him). As for these people, they buy clothes that are under their ankles in the first place, and they don't mind; it is always like that. It is not that their clothes were above their ankles and then got loose and fell under. If it wasn't forbidden, why would Abu Bakr al-Siddiq get scared and go to the Messenger (peace be upon him)?
