Assalamu Alaikum Ustadh. My wife is on her period but wishes to follow me attending a weekly Saturday lesson. We travel a long distance (1 hour each way) to get there. Is she allowed to sit inside the masjid to listen to the dars, or must she stay outside the prayer hall? JazakAllah Khair.

Imām Ibn Baz said: If she has a place near the mosque from which she can hear—whether from near the miḥrāb, from one side of the mosque, or from the back of the mosque—and she can hear clearly, then there is no problem with that. As for being inside the mosque, then no; because the Prophet ﷺ said: “I do not permit the mosque for a menstruating woman nor for one in a state of major ritual impurity (junub).” And regarding the junub, Allah says: “except while passing through” (al-Nisāʾ: 43). And when he ﷺ instructed ʿĀʾishah to bring the mat from the mosque, she said: “I am menstruating.” He said: “Your menstruation is not in your hand,” so he ordered her to pass through and take the mat from the mosque. As for sitting, then no; but as for passing through for the junub and the menstruating woman, there is no harm. Sitting, however, is not permitted. But if there is a place outside the mosque from which she can listen to the lessons, then there is no problem with that. Yes.
