Beloved shaykh. Is it permissible to eat before going to bed (5 hours before fajr) and then wake up after suhoor time to pray fajr? Is the fasting valid? Or does the person have to wake up before fajr and eat to be able to fast?

Valid. But eating suhoor is favored and it helps you.
