Ahsan Allahu ilaykum, I heard that if the fajr salat has begun and one arrives late, he should pray the sunnah before joining the congregation. The evidence stated was an incident where a sahabi found himself in this very situation and proceeded in the aforementioned way. What is the ruling on this?
