السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Sheikh what are the reasons why competing in boxing and mma is haraam? I get tempted to go down that path and become a pro fighter because I’m a talented fighter and Allah has gifted me with strength and I love fighting. It’s my fitna. Is the money also haraam?

‎Professional boxing is not allowed, because it is built on harming the opponent, which can lead to blindness or brain damage, and striking the face, which the Prophet ﷺ‎ forbade (al-Bukhārī). Imam Ibn Baz and the Islamic Fiqh Council ruled it haram, and fighting where each side may harm the other takes the same ruling. As for earning many of these sports are built upon gambling which is a major sin in Islam.
