Assalamu alaykum Ustadh. What is the ruling on saying “Assalamu alayka ya Rasul Allah” when visiting the Prophet’s Mosque? Does this imply believing the Prophet ﷺ directly hears every salam, and would such a belief constitute shirk? AhsanAllahuilaikum

Saying it when visiting his grave is the sunnah, and your salam reaches him from near or far, conveyed by the angels. There is no proof that he hears every salam or every call, and calling on him for help is shirk.
