My wife wants to set off blue/pink fireworks to reveal our baby’s gender after the doctor confirms it. No mixed gathering, in a quiet park, no music or posting. She says she doesn’t intend to copy kuffar. Would this be haram or innovation? I feel uneasy as it’s practised by kuffar. Please clarify.

Leave it, this is a custom known of the disbelievers and taken from them, and what decides tashabbuh is that the practice is theirs, not what you intend by it. Her saying she does not mean to copy them does not lift it while the practice is still known as theirs, and your own unease about it is a sign, so thank Allah for the child in a way that pleases Him.
