Assalamualaikum. What is the priority: Hijra or Hajj?

Ustadh AbdulAziz al-Haqqan
Hijrah is obligatory upon the one who cannot manifest his religion where he is, and Hajj is obligatory upon the one who has the means beyond his essential needs, so neither one is due upon a man until its own condition is met in his case. If both fall due at once and the money is only enough for one, the obligatory hijrah is put first, because it counts among the essential needs and delaying it harms a man in his religion, while Hajj may be delayed for an excuse.
