السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته احسن الله اليك I know that it's Islamic etiquette that you don't speak in the bathroom, often times my mother calls me though and i just don't answer because it doesn't feel right. Should i just answer I'm in the bathroom or is it makruh?

Can't you just call her afterwards? or do you suffer from waswas and spend very large amounts of time in the bathroom? If not, then hurry up and call her after in sha'a Allah no problem.
