Allah is not described with maleness nor with femaleness, and what you said is correct, that this is a description of created things, of each of which Allah created a pair. As for the pronoun, the reason the scholars give is the language itself, that Arabic has only masculine and feminine and the masculine is the original from which the feminine is derived.
