Assalamu alaykum, Ahsanallahu ilaykum What does one do regarding if others wish someone about birthday and gives one gifts does he collect ? Also a brother asked me for the evidence that Birthdays are haram as I said they are haram and knows I'm on it. I'm refering to general birthday not Mawlid.

Take the gift if accepting it opens a door for you to advise them, and leave it if accepting will only encourage them to repeat it. As for the evidence, the Permanent Committee gave two, that it is an innovation and that it is imitation of the disbelievers, and the Prophet ﷺ said that Allah has replaced the two days of Jahiliyyah for you with something better than them, the day of Fitr and the day of Adha (reported by Abu Dawud and al-Nasai, graded sahih by al-Albani rahimahullah).
