Assalamu alakium people said hitting on the face is haram which i agree with but what about when you're in a actual fight with someone on the street or self-defense or protecting your family do i still avoided the face or would that be a allowed in certain situation, what's the clear ruling?

The face is avoided even then if possible, the prohibition is general and the scholars said it takes in fighting, discipline, training and defending yourself.
