السلام عليكم وحياك الله In regards to the hadith mentioning that a person is upon the deen of his khalil, how should one interpret this if they don't have a khalil? Whose religion are they upon? Can we take Allah as a khalil or is this only allowed for the Prophet ﷺ & Ibrahim عليه الصلاة والسلام?

Ustadh AbdulAziz al-Haqqan
The hadith is about influence, a person takes on the way and the conduct of the one he keeps close, so it is an instruction to choose your companion carefully. You can take Allah as your khalil but not vice versa.
