Is clapping allowed? Someone people are saying it is not.

The scholars differ in this. Imam Ibn Baz said clapping is from the practice of jahiliyyah and should not be done, and that a man says Subhan Allah or Allahu Akbar instead, while Shaykh Ibn Uthaymin said there is no proof making it forbidden and that he did not like it but did not prevent it.
