أحسن الله إليك I live in Macedonia, and people here often drive just 35 minutes to a nearby city in Kosovo just for a coffee/walk. Since the people/culture doesn't consider this a journey even though it is crossing a border into another country. Am I allowed to go alone as a women?

What counts as travel is what is called travel among your people, so if going there is not called a journey among you then a mahram is not required, as long as it is safe. If it is called a journey then it is safar and a mahram is required however short it is.
