What are some examples of good character? What to do to have good character?

Generosity, courage, patience, bearing with people, and meeting them with an open face, an expanded chest and a settled heart. Good character with Allah is to receive His commands with acceptance and His decree with patience and contentment. Imam Ibn Baz mentioned four means to acquire it: asking Allah and imploring Him for it, seeking knowledge so that you know which manners are noble and which are blameworthy, keeping to the company of good people and staying away from bad company, and struggling against yourself with patience. He also said not to be harsh, or coarse, or one who insults, or lies, or bears false witness, and to be the one who greets his brother first.
