I usually follow whatever opinions I find from prominent ulama. Now that I have started Manhaj As-Salikin, should I follow the opinions in that book because it contains the dalil? Whose opinions should absolute beginners follow?

Always follow the evidence, and if you are not sure you can take the fatwa of a scholar whose knowledge and piety you trust.
