Assalamualaykum, Is it permissible to eat Machine Slaughtered Meat? I eat hand slaughtered and I am going to visit my family and they strictly eat Halal as well but they buy hand slaughtered sometimes and sometimes machine slaughtered. I want to know if machine slaughtered is okay. JazakAllah Khair.

Yes, machine slaughtered meat is permissible to eat when it is done the correct way, and this is the fatwa of the people of knowledge. The conditions are that the blade actually cuts through the throat and its vessels, that the one operating the machine be a Muslim or from the People of the Book, and that the name of Allah be said, and one naming is enough for a batch cut in a single continuous run. If the animal is stunned before the cut but is still alive when it is slaughtered it remains halal, but if the stunning or the machine kills it before it is cut then it is dead meat and is not lawful.
