My husband is very strict abt images/symbols in the house to the point of me not being allowed to have a naughts&crosses game because of the crosses and having to scribble out every single face including the tiny smiley faces on our eggs or on nappies. Is this correct or waswas?

Yes, this is waswas. It is good if he is removing images from the house, but the x/o game is not a cross, and the faces you have mentioned might not be actual images, therefore we encourage him not to open the door for waswas and OCD, for it ruins his life and those around him.
