أحسن الله إليكم dear ustadh How do we avoid music from, youtube ads, instagram/youtube reels and other places we are opening with the intention of seeking knowledge, and if music were to fall in our ears from this what do we do? بارك الله فيك وفي أهلك ومتعكم بالصحة والعافية

Choosing to listen to music is not allowed, but if it reaches your ears without you seeking it, as when an advertisement or a reel begins on its own, there is no sin upon you as long as you do not sit and listen to it. Imam Ibn Baz raḥimahullāh said there is no sin on the one who hears the sound without listening to it or intending it, and that the sin is only upon the one who intends it and listens. So take the means to keep it away, by skipping it, muting it, or scrolling past it quickly, and whatever falls upon your ears without your intention does not harm you, in shā' Allah.
