Ustadh what is the ruling for a married woman who gets monthly child benefit and she buys her own clothes, kids clothes and household items from this money because her husband says his monthly expenses are already high so she should use the child benefit.

Ustadh AbdulAziz al-Haqqan
Providing for the wife and the children is an obligation upon the husband, by what is reasonable and according to his means. Money that comes to the wife, including a benefit paid to her, is her own, and she is not obliged to spend it on the household or on herself, though she may do so willingly if she wishes. If the husband is genuinely unable, he provides what he can and there is no blame on her for helping from this money, especially spending it on the children for whom it is given. But if he is able, the obligation remains his, and he should not push it onto her money against her will.
