Assalamualaikum. A few months ago, I had a stomach bug and couldn’t keep wudu, so I missed 2 days of salah. After that, I struggled to make up the missed salah and prayed only 2–3 times daily. I tried making them up, but couldn’t. Now I pray 5 daily again, but I’ve missed about 60. What should I do

Ustadh AbdulAziz al-Haqqan
Being unable to keep wudūʾ never drops the prayer. If you could not use water, you pray with tayammum; and if you could manage neither water nor tayammum, you pray as you are, in whatever condition you are able — the condition being genuine inability, not difficulty alone. Allah Jalla wa ʿAlā (the Majestic and Exalted) says: ﴿فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ﴾ Meaning: "So fear Allah as much as you are able." [at-Taghābun, ayah 16] So it was wrong to leave the prayers for this reason; the sick pray according to their ability. As for the prayers you missed: the safest course is to make them up.
