السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته شيخنا أحسن الله إليكم I have been dealing with a chronic sickness for around 2 years that has hindered my ability to seek ilm, and I'm even starting to forget a lot of it. I am visiting doctors and doing ruqyah, pleased with the decree of Allah. Any advice, Shaykh?

May Allah grant you shifāʾ and reward you for your patience. Your illness, as long as you are patient and content, is a raising of your rank and an expiation of your sins, and whatever good you were regular upon in health is written for you in full while you are unable, as the Prophet ﷺ said that when a servant falls sick or travels there is written for him the like of what he used to do when resident and healthy (al-Bukhari). So do not grieve over what you miss of your knowledge. Keep to the doctors along with constant ruqyah, the morning and evening adhkār, the duʿās of shifāʾ such as Adhhib al-baʾs Rabb al-nās ishfi anta al-Shāfī..., and reciting Sūrah al-Baqarah in your house when you are able.
