Me and family will travel to visit relatives soon where there'll likely be repeated free-mixed gatherings incl non-hijabis & sometimes music. Me & my brother are the only salafis. What's the shar'i way to balance avoiding these gatherings while maintaining silat ar-rahim? Aunt is easier uncs are not

There is no keeping the ties of kinship in that which is forbidden. You cannot violate what Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala forbade by saying, "I'm keeping the ties of kinship." You must completely stay away from that which is forbidden. As for keeping the ties of kinship, you can: 1. Send messages 2. Call 3. Visit (when there is nothing that is forbidden)
