I've heard lots of confusion on the saying of Imam Ahmad that whoever says imaan is created is a disbeliever, what's the correct view?

Ustadh AbdulAziz al-Haqqan
Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated in Majmūʿ al-Fatāwā: "If someone asks: 'Is Īmān (faith) created or uncreated?' It should be said to him: 'What do you mean by Īmān? Do you mean something pertaining to the Attributes of Allah and His Speech—such as the declaration Lā ilāha illā Allāh (There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah) and His Īmān which is indicated by His Name Al-Muʾmin? In that case, it is uncreated. Or do you mean something pertaining to the actions and attributes of the servants? For all servants are created, and all of their actions and attributes are created. A temporally originated, created servant cannot possess a pre-eternal, uncreated attribute; and no one who truly conceptualizes what he is saying would ever claim such a thing. Therefore, when clarification is sought and detailed distinctions are made, guidance manifests and the path becomes clear."
