Ustadh, making sujud outside of the salat because I want to make dua. In sujud, is that okay and recommended?

No, do not make stuff up in the religion of Allah. If you want to make du'a outside of salah, then follow the sunnahs for du'a: 1. Being upon wudu 2. Turning towards the qibla 3. Raising your hands 4. Beginning with praising Allah 5. Sending the salah upon the Messenger of Allah
