What about Gold in watches, for example a watch I own has gold colored coating, or gold tone plating, in short, steel body with gold surface, but only on the hands and indices of the watch. Nothing on the case or outside of the watch. Is it still permissible to wear for men?

I haven't understood very well what you have said, but I can tell you the general ruling in regards to anything that has actual gold coating. To clarify, it is not just the color; it is actual gold that it is coated with. This is not allowed for men to wear.
