Asalamualikum, sheikh is it haram to take family photos where non mehram are away from the mehram in terms of where they are standing? I know you advised someone to not do this, but does that mean you think its haram? As sometimes I'm forced to be involved in these mixed photos which I highly hate

You said there is free mixing and maybe (and Allah knows best) that there is no observing of the Islamic hijab as well. This is haram; yes, forbidden, without a doubt. Not to mention the differences regarding the various views on pictures.
