salaam alaykum. I heard from a shaykh that if you recite all of Surah Baqarah, it will get rid of jinn but not evil eye. I'm confused because I thought Surah Baqarah is also recited to remove evil eye.

That's what I know as well. The Quran, all of it, is described by Allah in Surah Al-Isra as a cure. He did not designate the cure to any specific thing, which means it is a cure for everything. Allah knows best why he said so. Maybe he is correct, maybe not; Allah knows best.
