Are we sinful for playing video games with swearing/foul language? Alhamdulillah I am not influenced to say them, however is it specifically sinful to listen to those words?

You should not play games that have swearing in them. I realize that many games have cursing and swearing in them, so choosing another game is what you should do. But let's say there is a way to avoid it, lower the volume, or skip the places where there are swears. In that case, you can play those games; otherwise, choose something else.
