Masjid prays Asr around 1 hour before Maghreb. Around this time I've noticed that my shadow looks twice my length, so I doubt whether they are praying in the time of necessity, but I don't know if its possible for time of necessity to start an hour before Maghreb so I get confused, im in Australia

Pray in another masjid if you are sure that they are praying outside the time. If there are no other masajids, then pray at home with somebody else to be in a congregation.
