اسلام عليكم Is it permissible to inform others on social media such as in ur description for example that i am a Talib al ilm or will that come under riya?

As opposed to what? Content with ignorance? No, of course. We say we are seekers of knowledge, and we ask Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala to make us as such, give us sincerity, and accept from us.
