Assalamu alaikum ustadh, hope you are well! I read a fatwa from Sheikh Ibn Baz (Volume 26, page 148), which was dated a few months before he passed away, where he stated that wiping over the face is recommended after dua. Is it permissible to take this opinion?

I am not aware of this. Leaving it without a doubt is better as some of the people of ilm even called it a bid'ah.
