Ahsanallahu ilaykum fasting on the day of Arafat expiates our previous and upcoming year of sins, isn’t it only our Prophet whose future sins were forgiven? can you please elaborate

As is said a year, also we take into consideration the difference amongst the scholars whether this is for major and minor sins or just minor sins as major sins require repentance.
