AhsanAllahu ilaykum- if I work to earn money- to not rely on others, to spend on obligations, travel for ilm etc- and also with the intention that I am engaging in the worship of Tawakkul-- then is this fulfilling surah dhariyat ayah 56? My motivation is to worship Allah- otherwise I dislike working

Even gaining what to sustain yourself and family with is worship and doing your job competently is worship. But choose something u like doing. And yes what u habe mentioned is all obedience to Allah and in the way of Allah.
